Share your opinion on the High School Graduation Qualifying Exam. Friday, January 29th. Senate Bill 109

On Friday, January 29th at 8:00 am, the Senate Education Committee will take testimony on Senate Bill 109, which removes the requirement to pass the High School Graduation Qualifying Exam (HSGQE) in order to receive a high school diploma. This is your chance to tell your legislators how you feel about this exam or to share how the exam has effected you or your student. Please take the time to call in.....

If you would like to testify, you can go to the Legislative Information Office (LIO) in your area or you can call in to the hearing at: 1-877-763-5073. Please let the operator know you would like to testify. To find the LIO nearest you, go to: http://w3.legis.state.ak.us/misc/lios.php  If you call in right at 8:00 am and are not able to get through, please try again at 8:05 am. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to get the call hooked up to the hearing.
