Home & Community Based Care Waivers
Home and Community Based Care (HCBC) waivers allow people who would otherwise need an institutional level of care to live in their home or community and receive the care they need. These "waivers" are approved by the federal government and allow Alaska Medicaid to provide expanded services to people who meet the eligibility criteria for the specific waiver.
