Independent Living Center Presents: Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Advocacy Training

Do you experience deafness or a hearing loss?

Do you know your rights under the ADA?

Do you live on the Kenai Peninsula?

Have you ever been denied an interpreter at a local business?

Liz Andrews, who has been recently certified to teach Deaf Advocacy Training will be our featured speaker. Ms. Andrews was born and raised in Alaska, experiences deafness herself and is President of the Alaska Deaf Council. She will be assisting ILC and local advocates to understand rights of individuals to effective communication under the Americans with Disabilities Act and will help communities develop an action plan to ensure their rights.

Individuals who are deaf, their friends and family are especially invited!
