Reporting cancer data to ACR
using Web Plus
Web Plus is a free web-based application to collect cancer data securely over the Internet. Web Plus is most suited for small hospitals, health care providers offices, and other low-volume reporting sources that do not have facility-based cancer registries. The Web Plus software is hosted on a secure web server located at the Alaska Cancer Registry’s offices in Anchorage. No software is required to be installed on the user’s computer. The ACR web server has a digital certificate installed and the communication between the user’s computer and the web server is encrypted with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Records are saved in a secure database, and cases entered by one facility are not visible to other facilities. Data entered are validated by NAACCR “EDITS” quality control software. Users, display types, and edit configurations are managed by ACR. The Web Plus software was developed by CDC, which provides technical support to ACR for all upgrades and modifications to the software.
